2. Website hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany (processor). For the technical delivery of the website and for security purposes, the hosting server automatically processes and temporarily stores: IP address of the requesting device, date and time of the request, requested URL, HTTP status code, browser type and version, and the referring URL.
This server log data is processed to provide and secure the website. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in a functioning and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log data is deleted after a short period required for operation and security, unless a longer retention is necessary to investigate attacks or other abuse.
3. HTTPS / TLS encryption
This website is available over an encrypted HTTPS/TLS connection. Data transmitted between your browser and the server via HTTPS is encrypted to protect it against unauthorised access by third parties.
4. Contact form
The business enquiry form is part of this website. When you submit it, the data you enter (name, email address, company if given, and your message) is sent to our own server at IONOS in Germany, stored there in the website's database and forwarded to us by email. No third party is involved in this.
To keep automated spam out, the form uses a hidden field, a signed timestamp and a limit on how many submissions one internet connection may make per hour. For that limit we store a one-way hash of the IP address for at most one hour. The address itself is not stored with your enquiry.
Providing the data is voluntary; without the mandatory fields we cannot process an enquiry. Legal basis is your consent given by submitting the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in handling business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep the data for the duration of the enquiry and afterwards only as long as statutory retention or limitation periods require. It is not used for marketing. You can also write to contact@dfir-systems.de instead of using the form.
5. Email communication
If you contact us by email at contact@dfir-systems.de, we store the data you provide (in particular your email address and the content of your message) in order to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in processing inquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or your consent. The data is deleted once the inquiry has been processed, subject to statutory retention obligations.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses technically necessary storage in your browser. Language preference (atlas-lang) and cookie-consent preference (atlas-cookie-consent) are stored locally in your browser (local storage), not as advertising cookies. WordPress may set a technically necessary test cookie to check whether the browser accepts cookies.
Non-essential cookies (for example analytics or marketing) are only loaded after you have given consent via the cookie banner. No analytics, marketing or advertising cookies are currently in use.
7. Cookie consent management
When you visit the website for the first time, a cookie consent banner is displayed. You can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or manage your preferences. Your choice is stored locally in your browser. You can change or withdraw it at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
8. External services
This website uses no external analytics, marketing, advertising or social-media tracking services, and no third-party contact form. Fonts are served from this website itself. Product images and the website are delivered from the IONOS hosting environment described in section 2.
The only external provider is PayPal, and it is reached solely through a link from the donation page (section 11). No PayPal script and no PayPal cookie is loaded on this website. Should further services be added later, this privacy policy will be updated and consent obtained where required.
9. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
To exercise your rights, email contact@dfir-systems.de.
10. Changes to this privacy policy
This privacy policy may be updated to reflect changes in the website or legal requirements. The current version is available on this page.
11. Donations via PayPal
If you support Atlas with a donation, the Donate page links to PayPal. The payment is processed by PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg, under PayPal's own privacy policy. From PayPal we receive your name, your email address, the amount and any message you add. We store this to record the donation and to meet accounting and tax retention duties (up to ten years, § 147 AO). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR. We do not use the data for marketing and do not pass it on to anyone else.
